The Honor Bell Foundation has partnered with several Colorado judicial districts who operate veterans courts. These are a type of problem-solving court designed to serve justice-involved military and former-military members with substance abuse and mental health needs through intensive supervision and treatment. Veterans courts provide support, advocacy, and mentorship to increase the veteran’s chance of successful rehabilitation, community reintegration, and transition out of the criminal justice system.
Many of the veterans in these programs have community service obligations to fulfill, and the Honor Bell Foundation is a proud partner with several Colorado judicial districts offering opportunities to complete community service by serving with the Bell Guard — which creates another opportunity for mentoring and camaraderie.
