WEEKLY UPDATE: NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR NAMED, AND PLANNING FOR THE ARMISTICE CENTENNIAL

IN THE TRENCHES, WORLD WAR I

The Honor Bell Foundation Board met this week, and covered a range of personnel and organizational topics. Michelle Mallin was voted in as the new Executive Director, and will oversee overall operations for the Foundation’s programs. “This promotion is bittersweet, but the support from the board and our community has been uplifting,” Mallin said.

The Foundation also attended a planning meeting this week for the 2018 Veterans Day ceremony at Fort Logan National Cemetery.  This year’s program is special: it will celebrate the centennial of the Armistice.  In addition to honoring those who have served, and remembering our WWI servicemen, the Honor Bell will toll as part of an international commemoration of the anniversary.
