STEVE BEST ELECTED AS THE NEW CHAIRMAN OF THE HONOR BELL FOUNDATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Honor Bell Foundation’s Board of Directors met on February 18th to discuss many items, including selecting a new chairperson to head up the board. Steve Best, who has been serving on the Foundation’s Advisory Board, was elected as the new chairman of the Board of Directors. Steve succeeds Heidi Olivera as the Board Chair.

Prior to serving with the Foundation, Best was appointed Executive Director of Veterans Administration’s National Cemetery Admnistration (NCA) for the Continental District in Denver in 2013, retiring in 2019. Mr. Best joined the NCA after completing the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Senior Executive Service Candidate Development Program in May 2013. While at DHS he served in senior leadership positions with Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Transportation Security Administration. Mr. Best retired from the U.S. Army in July 2011 as a Major General with 35 years of combined active duty and Army Reserve service.
