LARRY PETERSON JOINS THE HONOR BELL FOUNDATION BOARD

LARRY PETERSON, OUR NEWEST FOUNDATION BOARD MEMBER.

Larry Peterson of Colorado Springs has joined the Honor Bell Foundation Board of Directors. A Vietnam-era US Air Force Gunner, Peterson was drawn to the Honor Bell’s mission when he heard about it during our outreach efforts in Colorado Springs. “I have a new job — and, being retired, it is one I had never planned on — but one that attracted me that means the most to me personally,” Larry told us. “I started on June 18th as an Honor Bell Guard Belladier at Fort Logan, once Bell Honors resumed after the COVID halt.

“This day also happened to mark a very tragic night in my life as the 48th anniversary of the loss of twelve of my fellow 16th SOS crewman on AC-130A TN 043 callsign Spectre 11. This made my first day of tolling the Honor Bell even more significant as my eyes filled with each of the Seven Tolls, heavy in my Heart & Soul as the resonating Honor Bell reverberated thru my body for seven seconds between each tolling.”
