BELL GUARD PROFILE: CLIFFORD BUTLER

BUTLER, DURING HIS TIME IN SERVICE.

Clifford Butler is a Bell Guard with the Honor Bell Foundation. Hailing from Texas, he served in both the Army and the Air Force. In the Army, he served for six years in the Army of Occupation after World War II in Germany. After the Army, he spent 16 years in the Air Force as a medical laboratory scientist, stationed in Texas, Alaska, Arizona, and Colorado. After his service, he continued his career as a laboratory scientist, ending up as a Supervisor of Microbiology at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center.

Clifford has been married for 58 years, and has six children.

Now retired, Butler is an active member of local veterans organizations and studies genealogy as a hobby. Clifford enjoys being able to pay last respects to his fellow military comrades by tolling the Honor Bell.
